Simon Nutt from Wollongong, Australia; July 2010:
'We had a fantastic stay.
Great position near Central Park, great operating lift which helped with shopping and luggage. Nice to have a Coin Op laundry in the base of the building. Bed was fine, Apartment starting to show its age a little. Could suggest wifi rather than cable internet.
Everything we needed very close to hand. Loved it.
Thanks again.

'Great Location!'
Jon S from Minneapolis, USA; June 2010:
'I read a lot of the comments about this room before I rented. The ones that scared me the most were the comments about the bed. The bed was not as bad as I would have guessed from past comments. It’s a firm bed yes, but because there is no spring underneath it and its only 6 inches thick. If you are use to a thick pillow top mattress then this will be very firm to you. Yes it’s a bit dark inside because 15 feet outside the window is another building, but this other building keeps the street noise out. It’s very quite inside and we seldom heard our neighbors.
The bathroom was very clean, no mildew or mold and the shower has the power of a fire hose if you need that kind of thing. The location is fantastic. You are within 1000 feet of 4 bars and 3 restaurants and 2 pizza joints. Central Park and 3 different subway lines are within a block or two as well. Great Upper West Side apartment.
The only knock on the apartment is that the pictures make it look a little brighter and nicer than it really is. The love seat was a little dirty looking and the wood floors show their age. However after traveling in many countries in Western Europe I would say this is better than average. Compared to a couple 3 and 1/2 star hotels I've been in NYC this studio is comparable or better. If you are use to Midwestern expectations of hotels and have never traveled to Europe or NYC then this will not live up to what you expect.
Would I recommend you stay here? For the price, location, and ease of renting... Absolutely

' Congratulate you for the department of 80th Street. It is tastefully decorated, comfortable, in a very quiet neighborhood, close to the subway and central park. We enjoyed some beautiful days and of course we will return there next year. Henry and Tere. '

'Estos dÃas en NY han sido fantasticos. El apartamento estaba limpio, pequeño pero lo justo, para pasar una semanita y para 2 personas, fantastico. Muy bien comunicado. La vistas son a un muro, pero la ventaja es que no entra casi nada de luz y se duerme de maravilla porque tampoco hay ruidos. Mi valoración es un 8/10.'
Ruth Nightingale from London, United Kingdom; October 2009:
'This was a great location for my training week in New York. The apartment was fine for my needs.
I found it clean and equiped with everything I needed - including some great bars and restaurants nearby.
The only slight crticism is that the bedding - whilst clean - had a musty smell.

'This was the third apartment of Cristina and Michael's, I stayed this May on a 10-day trip, this time for 6 nights. It was the largest, with a lovely dining room table and chairs, adequate kitchen. However, for me the bed was so hard I had to sleep with pillows under me. The place is also quite dark. Again, the neighborhood is divine, and altogether I loved my vacation.'
Dahl Kiersten from , Amsterdam; May 2009:
'Loved the location I had the Gym just a block away (very important for me).
The building is very safe and the people in the elevator very friendly.
Some things in the apt were great and some needed a little attention but I used to live in NY and know the deal.
I had a great experience as I felt like I really lived here and this was my home. Cozy but not perfect.

'We had a wonderful stay at the Appartment!!!!!
IT´s perfectly situated between two subway lines, one block away from Central Park, national museum of history...., last but not least: the perfect ZABARs!!!!
we felt like at home, we slept well, most important of all- we would definitely come back!!!'
Lana Cowell from Cleveland, usa; November 2008:
'THe room was clean and comfortable. My husband thought the mattress was too firm. Maybe one of those foam mattress covers would help. The best part is the location.
We loved the fact that there were so many wonderful restaurants in the neighborhood.
Thanks so much.

'Convenient location in a great neighborhood. Would stay here again in an instant!'
Doug Dunn from Bloomington, MN , USA; October 2008:
'Let's get past the negative first. We thought the bed was a little hard for our tastes. Also, we were only given 2 bath towels, which is fine for us, but there were no wash cloths, hand towels, and no kitchen towels of any kind.
On the positive side, the apartment is nicely furnished, and easily accessable. It was a great neighborhood for us. Two blocks in either direction and you have access to many of the major subway lines. Central park is only a couple of blocks away and the neighborhood in general has much to offer in dining, shopping, etc. Overall a pretty good experience. '
Richard White from Bainbridge Island, WA, USA; September 2008:
'Nicely located, small comfortable room that my wife and I enjoyed very much. Very close to the Museum of Natural History, with easy access to the subway. Feels like a very safe neighborhood with very friendly people.'
Henry Leeds from Atlanta GA, USA; September 2008:
'Christine and I enjoyed your place. I would like to make a couple of recommendations to make someone’s stay a bit more enjoyable. I would recommend hand wash clothes, some hand soap, and toilet paper in the room. That additional air mattress was just ok for an adult. '
Pam and Allison from MO, USA; July 2008:
'My daughter and I stayed in your Apartment at 80th and Amsterdam for 5 weeks this summer while she attended classes in the city. We couldn\'t have asked for a better location. We loved being able to take a short walk to Central Park, the Museum of Natural History and two subway stations. We loved the apartment building, the neighborhood was beautiful, and the other tenants were very friendly. We plan to book with you again as soon as we find out the schedule for next year. Thanks for a lovely and memorable stay!'
